Initial Sector Plan
So my idea behind this was to take advantage, as much as possible, of having a largeish nook and a small alliance. With most of our buildings in the nook, we can focus defenses on the MOs rather than the buildings themselves (which saves money in the long run). As for growing the planet, the economy produces enough water for the buildings, so all we need is supplemental water for the SB (~240 per day) which can be provided by an I planet at a pop of only 4,000. To put that in perspective in early arty I grew Lahola I to over 40k on nothing but harvested energy, and never depleted tiles below 400.
This is my initial economic plan/goal for Cebalrai:
(last number is profit per day w/ price scheme (see bottom))
Space Farms - 4x lvl 6 - @(8,20)(9,20)(10,20)(11,20) - 5700
Recyclotron - 1x lvl 6 - @(11,22) - 5520
Asteroid Mine - 1x lvl 6 - @(11,19) - 7300
Smelting Facility - 2x lvl 6 - @(10,19)(12,19) - 17400
Optics Facility - 1x lvl 4 - @(11,18 ) - 11040
Chemical Lab -1x lvl 4 - @ (9,11) - 10800
Plastics Facility - 1x lvl 5 - @(12,18 ) - 14200
Electronics Facility - 2x lvl 5 - @(9,18 )(10,18 ) - 17000
Radioactive Collector - 1x lvl 4 - @(9,19) - 6000
Handweapons Factory - 1x lvl 4 - @(6,19) - 31200
Battleweapons Factory - 1x lvl 6 - @(5,19) - 44200
Robot Factory - 1x lvl 6 - @(8,19) - 40800

This leaves one fuel tiles "open" @ 18,5
In theory (a.k.a. mathematically) this setup would produce exactly enough food to maintain an SB at 15k population. And a 15k SB would in turn produce enough energy for all the buildings. Although the planet would have to rely on harvested energy or from another SB. How well this would work in practice I'm not certain - although it seems feasible.
Further more this economy would produce the following Surplus:

K, that looks like a lot of work... one question: what map do you use? cos Peggyland Cebalrai (Bluesuncorp) doesn't go further than 20 on the x-axis... that would leave the SB out of the map, for instance...

Ok here is a direct link and the picture of Marrics plan. I dont know if I totally agree with it.

Seems to me we would want to grow the planet first.
2) I think the SB should be on a fuel tile instead of E. If put on a fuel tile, it will also produce fuel. After seeing the sectors in Q and YV being strip mined and knowing what a hastle it is haus fuel into the TO, I firmly believe it should be produced by the SB.
Anyway, thats what this Forum is for, to discuss plans for the New Alliance.

I would suggest switching the DAC and the RF in that pic, and maybe moving the BWF down under where the DAC is shown, or something similar to pull everything in, unless another SF is being considered.

I think the SB is 14 spaces away from the planet? should be 15, acording to the manual. This would drop it one field south...

K. have arrived, will build. I thought of starting off with a smelter, the one left of the ore patch. Any thoughts?
